What we mean by distillation? First
Distillation is a method for separating liquid mixtures by evaporation and subsequent condensation of the vapor. In the most frequently used isobaric distillation, the evaporation is achieved by applying heat. Requirement for distillation is a boiling point difference in the mixture of liquids. Due to the different boiling temperatures and therefore different vapor pressures of the components, the steam from a liquid mixture of different composition. The vapor contains mainly the more volatile components of the mixture, while in the non-vaporized residue the less volatile components accumulate. If the boiling points far apart, or is a partial separation of the components within certain boiling ranges (for example, preliminary separation of oil), the distillation is based on the principle of direct current, in the laboratory in simple stills of glass. The mixture to be separated is called into a heated flask in the art bubble is given. The rising steam in a condenser (capacitor) is condensed and collected.
